MASON COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A fire in Mason County that destroyed a home is being considered suspicious.
The fire happened about 8 a.m. Thursday near the intersection of Palestine Road and Whitten Ridge Road in the Glenwood area in Mason County.
Valley Fire Department Fire Chief Elva Black tells WSAZ.com that the fire is being considered suspicious.
The home was almost completely destroyed by the time firefighters arrived.
According to Chief Black, there was no power in the home. Someone was living in the house, but nobody was there at the time of the fire.
The Mason County Sheriff's Department is handling the investigation along with the fire department. The State Fire Marshal has also been called in to assist with the investigation.
