UPDATE: Fire Out at American National Rubber in Ceredo

CEREDO, W.VA. (WSAZ) – A fire at American National Rubber in Ceredo, W.Va. is out.

Multiple fire departments responded to the plant on Main Street about 8:30 Monday morning.

The fire was in an oven that was full of rubber. Some of the fire also spread to duct working in the building.

The Assistant Ceredo Fire Chief Robbie Robson says the plant’s sprinkler system activated and helped put out the fire.

The fire was contained about a half-hour after the initial fire call came.

There were no reported injuries, and no word how the fire started.

Four fire departments responded to the fire. Robson says calling-in multiple departments is part of a plan worked out several years back to fight fire sat the plant.

CEREDO, W.VA. (WSAZ) -- Multiple fire departments are on the scene of a fire at American National Rubber in Ceredo.

The fire was reported just after 8:30 a.m. at the plant on Main Street.

We’re told the fire is in an oven that is full of rubber. The fire has also spread to some duct work in the plant.

There are no reported injuries.
