SUMMERSVILLE, W.Va. (AP) - The owner of a Summersville tire store says he'll rebuild following a fire that destroyed the business. Charlie Toney tells The Associated Press that he plans to find another building in Summersville to house the business until a new store can be built.

The fire broke out Saturday morning at C. Adam Toney Discount Tires. The building housed about 2,300 tires.

Summersville deputy fire chief Brian Dell says the heat was so intense that firefighters' face shields began to melt when they tried to enter the building.

The West Virginia State Fire Marshal's Office is investigating the fire. The cause hasn't been determined.

UPDATE 12/28/13 @ 6:10 p.m.
An early morning fire has cost one business millions in damage. It happened around four Saturday morning in the Summersville section of Nicholas County.

“It started popping and cracking,” neighbor Darrell Cartwright said.

Fire crews told WSAZ.com it took them nearly four hours to get control of the flames at the C. Adam Toney Discount Tires Shop. Six nearby fire departments responded to the call.

Deputy Fire Chief Brian of the Summersville Fire Department tells WSAZ.com the building is too hot for an investigation into the cause to begin. That will likely begin Monday.

While the building is considered a total loss, Cartwright said the business’ manager is already planning its reopening.

“I talked to Benny, the manager up there, a little while ago and he told me within a week he'll be reopened, Cartwright said, adding, “He’s got a little garage beside the building that didn't burn and he intends to open that up and keep right on going.”
