UPDATE 7/3/14 @ 2:45 p.m.
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) – Firefighters quickly contained a fire at a law firm in downtown Huntington.
Heavy black smoke was coming from the building in the 900 bock of 5th Avenue when firefighters arrived on the scene right before 1:45 Thursday afternoon.
Several employees of the law firm, Flynn, Max, Miller & Miller, were able to get out okay.
Two neighboring apartment buildings were evacuated as a precaution.
Firefighters say the fire was contained to the roof. Right now they don’t know what started it.
There was some damage to the second floor of the building.
5th Avenue is back open.
The fire is in the 900 block of 5th Avenue. It was reported right before 1:45 p.m.
Heavy black smoke from the fire can be seen for several blocks in the downtown area.
5th Avenue is closed at 8th Street due to the fire.
