Firefighters Battle Huntington House Fire

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A fire at a vacant home in Cabell County causes firefighters to battle the flames for hours Wednesday morning.

A call came into Cabell County 911 around 12:30 a.m. concerning a house fire in Huntington.

The vacant home, located on the 1600 Block of 11th Avenue, was destroyed by the flames.

Firefighters tell WSAZ.com that their main concern was that the fire would spread to a nearby home.

Firefighters were forced to wake up the man and woman who lived in the neighboring house.

No one was injured during the fire and there is no word yet on what started the fire.

The State Fire Marshal is on the scene and investigating the cause of the fire.
