LAWRENCE COUNTY, Ohio (WSAZ) -- Recent dry weather is becoming a real concern because of brush fires.
A fire broke out Thursday near Proctorville on 171 Private Road.
It was in an area that's hard to reach.
Rome Township got the fire under control, but it started smoking again Friday morning.
Lawrence County 911 Dispatchers sent the Proctorville Fire Department to monitor the fire.
Firefighters told WSAZ.com that a soaking rain is needed to tamp down the threat of brush fires.
