UPDATE: Home Destroyed after Fire in Point Pleasant

PT> PLEASANT, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A family has lost their house after a fire broke out early Saturday morning destroying it.

Point Pleasant Fire Chief Jeremy Bryant says there were five victims in the fire that start around 7:30 a.m. Three people sustained severe injuries and were air lifted to Cabell Huntington Hospital.

Bryant says the cold temperatures made the fire hard to fight.

While the cause of the fire is still undetermined, Bryant says it appears to have started downstairs forcing the family to run through the fire to escape.

PT. PLEASANT, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- An early morning fire in Pt. Pleasant has left five people injured.

Dispatchers say they received a call around 7:30 a.m. about a fire near 12th and Main Street.

Five people sustained injuries and Point Pleasant Fire Chief Jeremy Bryant says some have had to be air lifted to a hospital.

No word just yet on the cause of the fire.
