Fire Rips through St. Albans Home, Injures Woman

KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A woman is being treated after fire ripped through a home Tuesday afternoon.

The fire was reported about 1:15 p.m. on Hill Street near St. Albans.

Crews say a man, woman and two dogs were home at the time of the fire.

Firefighters tell WSAZ.com that Deidra Layton was treated for smoke inhalation and minor burns.

No word on what caused the fire.

Crews from Institute, Jefferson, Tornado, St. Albans, and Lakewood were on the scene.

KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Firefighters are on the scene of a house fire in St. Albans.

The fire broke out about 1:15 p.m. on Hill Street near St. Albans.

Dispatchers tell WSAZ.com flames were shooting from the house when firefighters arrived.

Dispatchers say power lines near the home are also exploding and sparking.

It is unclear at this point if anyone has been hurt.

We have a crew headed to the scene.
