Floyd County Man Charged in 2 Hit and Run Crashes

PAINTSVILLE, Ky. (WSAZ) – A Floyd County man has been arrested and charged in connection with two separate hit and run accidents in Johnson County.

Sheriff Dwayne Prices says the accidents happened Wednesday on Ky. 1107, and that the vehicle involved was reported to be a gold, 2003 Chevrolet pick-up.

Price says a deputy later found the truck stuck in a culvert, with the motor running and the driver, Shane Dye, 33, passed out behind the wheel.

The deputy says that inside truck he found open liquor bottles and multiple prescription medications.

Dye was charged with DUI, two counts of leaving the scene of an accident, open alcoholic beverage containers in a motor vehicle, disorderly conduct, no insurance, and no registration receipt.

He was taken to the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center.
