MINGO COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- At Mingo Central the football team had their work cut out for them to be able to play their senior night on their home field.
After Monday night the field was covered with nearly 2 feet of snow.
Players tried to roll the snow off themselves, but it didn't work.
Coach Yogi Kinder says fortunately people in the community pitched in and used their snow removal equipment and were able to get the field cleared in time for Friday night's game against Herbert Hoover.
Players say seeing their field look like the Frozen Tundra is something they'll never forget.
"It was awesome,” senior running back Joe May said. “It was really fun to come out and joke around with everybody, make memories. I'll always remember coming out here when it was snowing, messing around, throwing snowballs, just having a good time."
Mingo Central won the game 44-0 and finished with a 6-4 record.
