LINCOLN COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- The Lincoln County Commission is named as a defendant in a lawsuit from a former county administrator who alleges she was fired partly for political reasons.
According to the suit, Judith A. Johnson was employed by the Lincoln County Commission from February 1990 to July 18, 2013.
The suit alleges that Johnson was not affiliated with the political action group PRO-PAC during the 2012 primary and general elections, and that she was "illegally discharged" as a result.
In March 2013, the commission allegedly hired a new employee to take over Johnson's office, while she was forced to move to a much smaller office, according to the suit.
A jury trial is requested, as well as punitive damages and attorney costs.
