KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va (WSAZ) -- A former Kanawha County Board of Education employee was arrested in connection with the theft of nearly $1,500 worth of school equipment, including computers, according to information from the Kanawha County Sheriff's Office.

Gary Lee Cochran was charged with grand larceny.

Cochran formerly was employed as the child nutrition director for the school system. He had resigned in February 2012.

When Cochran's desk was cleared, pawn tickets were found for two computers assigned to him, deputies say.

Cochran was arrested in Cabell County, W.Va., and arraigned in Cabell County Magistrate Court. He was then transported to Kanawha County for booking and placed in the South Central Regional Jail.

His bond was set at $10,000.
