FLATWOODS, Ky. (WSAZ) -- A boil water advisory has been issued in parts of Greenup County.
According to a release from the City of Flatwoods, a boil water advisory was issued Saturday for the following areas: Farm Hill Drive, Valley Drive, Birch Street, Greenbo Blvd, Taylor Street, Thornhill Road, Fawn Lane, Foxhunters Road, Foxhunters Lane, Morning Star, Mayor Ridge, Clearwater Street, New Haven Drive and Luci Mae.
The city reports the advisory was issued due to water line breaks.
Greenup 911 says crews are working to fix breaks and fill the tank.
They say water is flowing in some areas, but not in all areas at this time.
According to a release, residents are told to boil water for at least five minutes for a precautionary measure.
The advisory is in place until further notice.
Buford Hurley, Director of Greenup 911, says this water issue in not released to a chemical spill in West Virginia.

"The 911 center has been inundated with calls requesting to know if the water issue involves the chemical leak, and the answer is no," said Buford Hurley, director of Greenup County 911. "The city of Flatwoods Public Works is currently working on the issue and they hope to have it resolved as soon as possible."
Hurley asked residents to not call 911 unless it is an emergency. For non-emergencies, callers are asked to dial 311 from landlines in Greenup County and 606-473-1411 from cell phones.
