UPDATE: HPD Officer Recovering After Crash

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A Huntington Police officer is out of the hospital and recovering at home after an accident.

The accident happened Thursday evening at the intersection of 8th Street and 7th Avenue. Witnesses told officers a minivan blew through a red light at the intersection, causing the crash.

Huntington Police tell WSAZ.com Officer Travis Hagan was released from the hospital Friday.

Three women from the van were also taken to the hospital.

No word on their conditions.

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A Huntington Police officer is one of four people hospitalized after his cruiser and mini-van collided.

A department spokesperson tells WSAZ.com Officer Travis Hagan was on the way to a call when the accident happened Thursday evening.

Witnesses told officers the van blew through a red light at the intersection of 8th Street and 7th Avenue, causing the crash.

Officer Hagan, along with three women in the van were taken to the hospital.

No word on the conditions of any of the victims but police say their injuries are considered to be non-life threatening.
