UPDATE 3/25/13 @ 6:10 p.m.
RAND, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Deputies are searching for two men they say tied up and beat a 64-year-old woman.

The home invasion happened about 4:10 a.m. Monday at a home in the 200 block of Clemson Avenue in Rand. According to deputies, the men tied up, then assaulted a 64-year-old woman living at the home.

Neighbors like Patricia Cochran said they heard dogs in the neighborhood barking around the time of the invasion but didn't realize their neighbor was being hurt.

The victim told the Kanawha County Sheriff's Department she thinks the attack was targeted. Kenneth Foster, who lives across the street from the victim, said he can't imagine who would target the woman.

"She don't bother nobody," Foster said. "She just sits on her porch in pretty weather. She's a good person."

Cochran said while she normally feels safe, Monday's incident makes her think twice about her neighborhood's safety.

"When you hear these things, it makes you start to think maybe I need to take more precautionary measures," Cochran said.

After the suspects left the home, the victim, whose name is not being released at this time, was able to free herself and call 911.

The woman suffered minor injuries as a result of the attack. Her daughter, who works in the medical field, tells WSAZ.com she was able to treat her mother.

Neighbors and family tell WSAZ.com the woman is recovering but is traumatized by the incident.
