PIKE COUNTY, Ohio (WSAZ) – A man was taken in for a mental evaluation after deputies say he was shooting a gun inside his home and making threats.
Michael Blevins, 62, was arrested at his home in the 600 block of Walnut Street in Waverly Saturday night.
Waverly Police say they were unable speak to Blevins or get inside his home for several hours.
Neighbors had to be evacuated before deputies were called in to help.
Police sent a robot inside Blevins’ home. They say he opened fire when he saw the robot.
A short time later, police got inside the house and arrested Blevins.
Police say Blevins was highly intoxicated and suffers from mental health issues. They took him to a hospital for a precautionary examination before being taken to jail.
Several guns were confiscated from Blevins’ home, police said.
Blevins’ is facing several charges including two counts unlawful possession of a dangerous weapon and vandalism of government property.
