HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A Huntington man was arrested Wednesday on child pornography charges after videos were found on a laptop computer he had taken to a repair shop, according to an arrest warrant from Cabell County Magistrate Court.
Brad Maynard, 27, was charged with two counts of distribution/ possession of material depicting minors in sexual acts.
While being arraigned, Maynard told WSAZ.com he doesn't know how that material got on his computer.
"My side of the story is I'm innocent,” Maynard said. “I'm going to fight this ‘til my last dying breath."
According to the warrant, Maynard took the laptop to a Huntington computer repair shop. A technician found videos he believed to be illegal and notified police.
Huntington Police then seized the laptop and found evidence of child pornography.
"It's a laptop sitting out in someone's room," said Maynard. "I'm not a hermit. I have people over all the time. My computer is used by a lot of people."
Maynard's bond is set at $50,000. If convicted, he faces up to four years in jail.
