UPDATE: 4 New Officers take Oath in Huntington

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Four new officer were sworn in to the Huntington Police Department Friday afternoon.

Family, friends, council members, HPD officers and Mayor Steve Williams packed City Council chambers at 2 p.m. for the official ceremony.

Brennan Simpkins, of Huntington, Nicholas Wyrick, of Huntington, Shane Wilburn, of Salt Rock and Adam Ankrom, of Huntington, are the four new HPD officers.

All four will now head to the West Virginia State Police Academy for a 16-week course before heading back to Huntington to join the force.

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- The City of Huntington will soon have four new police officers.

According to a release from the Huntington Police Department, four new probationary officers will join the Huntington Police Department.

Brennan Simpkins, of Huntington, Nicholas Wyrick, of Huntington, Shane Wilburn, of Salt Rock and Adam Ankrom, of Huntington are the four new HPD officers.

The four, according to the release, will complete a 16-week basic training session at the West Virginia State Police Academy before returning to Huntington.

The ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday in City Council Chambers.
