HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A woman was charged with first-degree arson after police say she started set her home on fire.
The fire happened in the 3100 of Sumner Avenue in Huntington Wednesday afternoon.
Garnet Depta, 58, told investigators that recent emotional issues led her to start the fire in her home.
Police say in the criminal complaint that Depta used a grill starter to set four different fires in the basement. They also say she provided information about her involvement in setting the fires.
While damage isn't visible from the outside, the estimated damage to the interior of the home was about $100,000.
Depta is being held in the Western Regional Jail
