PIKEVILLE, Ky. (WSAZ) -- The driver of a car involved in an accident that killed a first grader has been indicted for reckless homicide by grand jury in Pike County, Ky.

6-year-old Kayla Fouts died in the head-on accident on US 460 in Shelbiana back on April 3.

Katherine Kilgore, 31, of Pike County, was also indicted on one count of assault by the grand jury in Pike County.

Prosecutors say Kilgore was driving the SUV that hit the car driven by Kayla’s mom, Dedra. Dedra and Kayla’s brother were also hurt in the accident.

According to a published report, prosecutors say a witness noticed Kilgore driving aggressively before the crash.

A date has not been set for Kilgore’s arraignment.
