IRONTON, Ohio (WSAZ) -- The Ironton City Mission is celebrating 70 years of serving Thanksgiving dinner.
This year, they expect to serve 1,000 dinners, the most ever.
Jim Cremeans, a former pastor from Pedro, Ohio tells WSAZ.com this event is a blessing. "It makes you feel good on the inside. When I started 40 some years ago, 47 actually, we just did about 200 meals," Cremeans said.
This year not only can you dine in, the mission also offered a drive-thru service.
Cremeans says many groups have a hard time finding volunteers, but they have had so many, they had to turn several way. He tells WSAZ.com that there were at least 60 people offering a helping hand in the kitchen, and another dozen delivering meals.
