Kanawha County Worker Pay Raise

Kanawha County, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Kanawha County employees are getting their first pay raise since 2008.
The Kanawha County Commission voted to give county workers a lump $1,000 raise Thursday night.
They decided against a percentage wage.
Officials say the workers earned the pay increase and that a lump sum keeps everyone on a level playing field.
The raises begin in September.
