KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- The Kanawha County Parks and Recreation Commission is considering charging the Kanawha County School Board for use of it's soccer and tennis courts.
The Commission considered the idea at it's meeting on Thursday.
Commission members say that if the students are required to pay-to-play it is fair to charge for using the facilities.
Like so many other groups, the director of Kanawha County's Parks and Recreation Board told WSAZ.com, they are facing difficult budge times.
"We have a budget deficit and everything that we have to deal with too and you know we're giving something away for basically free which for the most part we don't mind doing, but it's because the kids aren't being charged to play and we're trying to help the parents."
