CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Picking up trash bags to help keep the city of Charleston clean has become more convenient for residents after City Council voted on the issue Monday night.
As it has been, anyone who pays the city's garbage service fees gets free trash bags. Council members voted Monday to change where neighbors pick up those bags.
They awarded a contract to a vendor who will select merchants throughout the city to distribute the bags.
When Council approves the pick-up locations, neighbors will get a voucher for the bags and get them wherever they shop.
