UPDATE: One Killed in Cabell County Crash; Name Released

UPDATE 8/6/14 @ 4 p.m.
CABELL COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) – Investigators have released the name of the driver killed in a two vehicle crash along W.Va. Route 2 in Cabell County.

Sheriff Tom McComas says Patsy Kay Blankenship Chapman, 50, of Lesage was killed in the accident at the intersection to Frazier’s Lane around midnight.

McComas says Chapman had stopped to turn onto Frazier’s Lane when her car was rear ended by another driver. Her car ended up on nearby railroad tracks.

McComas says a passenger in Chapman’s car was hurt and taken to the hospital. No word on their name or condition.

The driver of the other vehicle had minor injuries.

The accident is still under investigation.

The accident happened at the intersection to Frazier’s Lane around midnight

Sheriff Tom McComas says a driver has stopped to turn onto Frazier’s Lane when they were rear ended by another driver.. The vehicle that was hit ended up on nearby railroad tracks.

McComas says it was the driver of that car, a woman, who was killed. A passenger in the car was hurt and taken to the hospital. The driver of the other vehicle had minor injuries.

The name of the person killed is expected to be released this evening.

The accident is still under investigation.

LESAGE, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- An accident involving two vehicles sends one person to the hospital with serious injuries.

The accident happened around 11:45 p.m. on Tuesday night around 8100 block of Frazier's Lane and it's intersection with Ohio River Road in Lesage.

Dispatchers tell WSAZ.com that two vehicles crashed into a utility pole, sending one of the vehicles onto the railroad tracks nearby.

Dispatchers believed one person sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital.

The names and the conditions of those involved in the accident are not available at this time.
