LOUISA, Ky. (WSAZ) -- A Lawrence County, Ky man will not go to jail after being formally sentenced on child porn charges.
The Kentucky Attorney General's Office says Thomas Meade, 52, of Blaine, Ky., was sentenced Friday in Lawrence County Circuit Court.
Meade was arrested last December in Lawrence County after being indicted on child porn charges.
Prosecutors say investigators found more than 100 child pornographic images and videos on his computer
In July, he pleaded guilty to one count of distribution of child pornography and four counts of possession of child pornography..
Friday, Meade was sentenced to give years in prison, but his sentence was probated for five years.
Meade is required to register as a sex offender for 20 years and go through a sex offender treatment program.
“I appreciate the hard work of my Cybercrimes Unit, Office of Special Prosecutions and all of the agencies involved in this case,” Attorney General Jack Conway said. “Working together, we are helping make the Internet a safer place for Kentucky kids.”
Thomas Meade, 51 of Blaine, Ky. pleaded guilty Friday to one count of distribution of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor, and four counts of possession of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor during a hearing in Lawrence Circuit Coutr.
Following the plea, Judge John Preston recommended a five year prison sentence for Meade.
In December 2012, Meade was indicted following an undercover investigation by Attorney General Conway’s Cybercrimes Unit. It was an investigation that began in January 2009.
Prosecutors say an examination of Meade’s computer revealed more than 100 child pornographic images and videos.

After posting bond, Meade was released from the Johnson County Regional Detention Center.
On December 14, a Lawrence County Grand Jury indicted Meade on four felony counts of possessing child pornography and one count of distributing child pornography.
The indictment was the result of an undercover investigation initiated by Attorney General's Cybercrimes Unit in January 2009.
Meade is scheduled to be arraigned on January 2.
