Local Businesses Raise Funds for Morris Building Victims

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Folks in Huntington are still showing their support for the Morris Building fire victims through fundraisers.

Just across the street from the Morris Building is the Rio Grande Mexican restaurant.

It opened its doors Saturday to help the tenants and businesses damaged by the fire.

Twenty percent of all of Saturday's profits was donated and on top of that, Rio Grande matched that twenty percent.

"I love eating here and what better way to do it than to eat, and know that a percentage of what I'm paying is going toward those effected by the fire," said Victoria Perri.

Rio Grande is not the only business showing the building some love, Max and Erma's and the V-Club music venue has made donations.

There are also two online fundraising accounts that together have raised more than $17,000.
