Lucasville Man Charged with Kidnapping in Vinton County

VINTON COUNTY, Ohio (WSAZ) -- A man from Lucasville, Ohio, has been charged with kidnapping in Vinton County, Ohio.

The Vinton County Sheriff Shawn Justice says that on May 10 deputies investigated a report of a man trying to abduct a woman whose car had broken down on SR 32 near CR 43A.

Neighboring counties were notified, and a Jackson County Deputy stopped the suspect vehicle at SR 93 and US 32.

Sheriff Justice says following an investigation, Justin Secrest, 30, of Lucasville, Ohio, was charged with attempted kidnapping.

On Tuesday, during a hearing in Vinton County Court, the attempted kidnapping charge was upgraded to kidnapping

Secrest also faces possession of narcotics charges in Jackson County, Ohio from when his car was stopped.

Secrest is being held in the SEORJ. Bond was set at $100,000.
