SCIOTO COUNTY, Ohio (WSAZ) -- A Lucasville man has been convicted and sentenced for making meth.
The Scioto County Prosecuting Attorney says Eric White, 33, of Lucasville, Ohio, was sentenced to a total of 11 years in prison after being found guilty of illegal manufacturing of methamphetamine, illegal possession of chemicals to manufacture methamphetamine and illegal possession of methamphetamine.
The verdict was handed down Monday after a jury deliberated less than 60 minutes.
Back in April, Scioto County Sheriff's deputies approached White while he was sitting against a guardrail on SR 139. Deputies questioned him and found that White had an outstanding warrant in Pickaway County. When deputies took White into custody, he was carrying 37 coffee filters, scissors, and what is referred to as a hobo pack - a knapsack on the end of the long stick. A bottle containing methamphetamine, ammonium hydroxide and petroleum distillate -- items used to make meth.
White was previously convicted in Scioto County in 2004 for illegal possession of chemicals to manufacture meth. He was sentenced to four yeas in jail. In 2005, in a separate case, White was sentenced to 11 months for breaking and entering, according to the release.
White has been in jail since he arrest on his indictment since September.
