Magic Mart Closes in Quincy

KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A small community in Kanawha County is taking another hit to its local economy.

Workers at the Magic Mart at the Quincy Mall in Quincy tell the store has closed for good. Sunday was the last day the store was opened. has a call into the company about why the store closed and how many workers are affected by the move, but our call was not returned before publication.

Magic Mart's closing comes just weeks after Kroger in the same shopping mall announced it was also closing.

Kroger is expected to close April 11. That close will affect 20 full time and 36 part time workers.

At the time of the closure announcement, a spokesperson said the store hasn't perform financially well for years.
