Man Accused of Cutting Healthy Trees in Coonskin Park Pleads Not Guilty

KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A man accused of cutting healthy trees at Coonskin Park and selling the lumber for profit pleaded not guilty to the charges on Wednesday.

David Bowen was hired to remove trees that were damaged by severe weather. He is accused of cutting healthy trees and selling the lumber for more than $100,000.

Bowen has been out of jail on bond. On Wednesday, he was granted permission to do logging work in Fayetteville, West Virginia.

Bowen's trial is set for Aug. 18.
