UPDATE: Child Rapist Sentenced to Life in Prison

SCIOTO COUNTY, Ohio (WSAZ) -- A man has admitted to raping three young girls in New Boston, Ohio.

Scioto County Prosecutors say Michael Lockhart, 52, pleaded guilty to three counts of rape Friday.

Lockhart originally pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Prosecutors say the abuse happened between 2002 and 2009.

Lockheart was reportedly a friend of the family and lived with a family member of the victims.

On Friday, Lockhart was sentenced to life in prison. He will be eligible for parole in 15 years.

Lockhart was also found to be a Tier III sex offender and ordered to register as a sex offender with the county sheriff for life if he is ever granted parole.

SCIOTO COUNTY, Ohio (WSAZ) -- A man accused of raping three young girls has pleaded not guilty to each of the three felony counts against him.

Michael Lockhart, 52, of New Boston, was arrested Tuesday. He is charged with raping three sisters, who are 5, 6 and 8-years-old.

Wednesday, Lockhart was in Portsmouth Municipal Court and pleaded not guilty to the charges.

New Boston Police say the investigation began last month when the parents of the children told police about several incidents that they say happened between 2002 and 2009.

Lockheart was reportedly a friend of the family and lived with a family member of the victims.

He is expected to be back in court on January 24.

He is being held in the Scioto County Jail on $300,000 bond.

SCIOTO COUNTY, Ohio (WSAZ) -- A Scioto County man was arrested and charged with raping three sisters, all under 10 years old.

New Boston Police charged Michael Lockhart, 52, of New Boston, with three counts of rape.

Police say the investigation started last month when the sisters told their parents that Lockhart, a family friend, had sex with them during a span of several years.

The girls were ages 8, 6 and 5 at the time. They say the incidents happened between 2002 and 2009. Lockhart was living with a family member of the victims during that period.

Police say Lockhart confessed to the offenses.

He was taken to the Scioto County Jail and is scheduled to appear in Portsmouth Municipal Court Wednesday.
