CLAY COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A man believed to be a potential public threat led to schools throughout Clay County placed on lockdown for much of Friday, West Virginia State Police say.

Derek Glasser, 39, was arrested in the Beechy Ridge Road area. Glasser was charged with sexual abuse of a minor and sexual abuse by a parent.

Glasser was believed to be a public threat at the time of lockdown, but he ended up being cooperative during his arrest.

While there were no details on Glasser's living conditions, they made troopers "question the well-being of the child."
