CHESAPEAKE, Ohio (WSAZ) – A police chase through three states ends with a man under arrest along a dead-end road outside Chesapeake, Ohio.
Lawrence County, Ohio Sheriff tells WSAZ.com that Roy Bentley, 46, was arrested after ditching his pickup at the end of Township Road 286. This all took place early Wednesday afternoon.
The chase actually began in Boyd County, Ky. after deputies were alerted to a possible break-in at a residence along Route 3.
Deputies spotted the suspect vehicle, a pickup truck with Ohio tags and the pursuit began. It took deputies up onto I-64 and into West Virginia.
The suspect then crossed into Ohio over the West 17th Street Bridge. He then turned Buffalo Creek Road before heading out Twp. 286.
We’re told the pursuit reached speeds of nearly 100 mph at times on the interstate.
Bentley was finally arrested after a short foot chase once he ditched his pickup at the end of the road.
Bentley was taken to the Lawrence County Jail.
Sheriff Jeff Lawless says inside the truck, deputies found jewelry, coins and other merchandise.
No word on the charges against Bentley.
