CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A Charleston man was arrested Wednesday in connection with an alleged incident near an elementary school that involved a drink being thrown into a woman's face, Charleston Police say.
Rodney A. Keene, 42, was charged with battery.
Police said the incident happened Tuesday near Chamberlain Elementary School in the 4800 block of Venable Avenue. The woman said she was waiting in her vehicle to pick up her child when a man motioned for her to move the vehicle. She said she was unable to move it because of the line of cars in front of her with parents waiting to pick up their kids.
The woman said the man then walked to her vehicle and asked for her to roll the window down. When she did so, the woman said the man threw a cup of soda in her face and yelled obscenities.
Chamberlain Elementary was briefly put on lockdown Wednesday as Charleston Police served a warrant on Keene, who lives close to the school. School officials and parents said there have been several incidents involving Keene harassing or threatening parents as they pick up their kids from school.
The investigation continues and more charges are possible, police say.
