SCIOTO COUNTY, Ohio (WSAZ) – The case of a Lucasville man charged in connection with a violent robbery is now headed to a grand jury following a preliminary hearing last week, according to court documents.
Kyle Cassidy, 27, was charged with aggravated robbery in connection with the alleged incident on Millers Run Back Run Road in Scioto County on January 31.
Sheriff Marty Donini says the homeowner, along with his wife and two small children returned home about 11 p.m, and discovered their home had been ransacked.
The homeowner then spotted the suspect still in the house, holding a knife.
Sheriff Donini says there was then a struggle in which Cassidy kicked the female, who was pregnant, in the stomach.
Donini says Cassidy then held a knife to the homeowner’s throat, demanding his wallet and threatening to kill him.
The Sheriff says man was able to get his hand between the knife and his throat which resulted in a cut hand.
Cassidy finally fled the house, stealing the victim’s vehicle, according to Donini.
He was arrested several days later.

The incident happened on Millers Run Back Run Road last Thursday night.

On Friday, Sheriff’s detectives were notified that the suspect was in a vehicle in Portsmouth. Portsmouth Police stopped the vehicle and arrested Cassidy without incident.
Sheriff Donini says more charges will be presented to a Scioto County Grand Jury at a later date.
