ASHLAND, Ky. (WSAZ) -- A man from Catlettsburg faces multiple criminal charges, including felony drug trafficking, in connection with a bust by the Boyd County Sheriff's Department.
Investigators say 21-year-old Michael D. Johnson went to Ashland to meet with a confidential informant about 9:00 Wednesday night but noticed sheriff's deputies in the area. They say Johnson threw a container containing oxycodone pills from his vehicle and then tried to drive away before being stopped and arrested.
While making the arrest, deputies say they found what they describe as a large amount of money in Johnson's vehicle. He is charged with drug possession, drug trafficking, and tampering with evidence.
Johnson is being held in the Boyd County Detention Center.
