Suspect Charged Second Time for Making Meth at Same Apartment Complex

CULLODEN, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A recurring meth problem at one apartment complex in Cabell County has some tenants feeling a disturbing case of déjà vu.

This past weekend, Cabell sheriff’s deputies made another meth bust at the Culloden Manor Apartments.

"It's wrong,” tenant Clinton Gibson said. “There are families with kids who live around here. They're making poison.”

Less than two weeks ago, two other suspects were charged with making meth there.

That followed a meth bust from last spring.

One of the four suspects arrested over the weekend was 25-year-old Thaddeous Reams, who was also arrested at the complex back in May.

Some neighbors are astonished the same man could allegedly be doing the same thing in the same place so soon.

"He should have been in jail and stayed in jail," neighbor Kelli Rogers said.

"Obviously the first arrest has not been an education at all for this gentleman," Sheriff Tom McComas said.

Reams’ charges from the meth bust last year were dismissed ten days after his arrest, but the sheriff says it's an ongoing investigation, and now he may face charges in both cases.

"The first case has not even been disposed of yet," he said.

23-year-old Brittany Legg, 52-year-old Karen Murphy, and 44-year-old Carla Curd were also arrested in the bust Saturday.

Murphy's address is listed as the apartment where the meth lab was found. Curd lived in the apartment across from Murphy's.

Reams is from Milton.

Those apartments are a part of HUD.

The sheriff says each bust has come following a tip from neighbors.
