PIKE COUNTY, Ky. (WSAZ) -- A Pike County man's death has now been ruled a murder, and another man from Pike County has been charged with the crime.
Kentucky State Police say the body of Gregory Todd Martin, 32, of Elkhorn City, was found Friday afternoon at a home along Harless Creek Road in Regina.
Troopers have charged Ervin J. Smallwood, 35, of Regina, with Martin’s murder.
Smallwood was arrested late Friday night and booked into Pike County Detention Center. He is being held without bond.
Jail records show Smallwood is also being held on a drug charge.
Investigators have not said how Martin died, or the motive for the murder.
According to the KSP citation, evidence collected at the scene, along with a witness statement indicate that Smallwood was involved in a physical altercation which resulted in Martin’s death.
