MARMET, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- The news quickly spread in Marmet Sunday: a train hit and killed a man.

Officers tell WSAZ.com, it happened at about 4 a.m. near 98th Street and Ohio Avenue.

“It's so sad,” neighbor Barry Pauley said.

The victim's family tells WSAZ.com the man killed was Tony Canterbury.

The site is the same spot of a fatal train accident nearly two weeks ago on November 4th. It’s also the location of three other deaths in the last ten years.

“The law should probably do a little more about keeping people off the tracks but also about the speed of these trains that go through here,” Pauley said.

Marmet police say they'll be taking a more aggressive approach with train track trespassers.

“If you're caught on the tracks here within the city limits you will be arrested,” said Inspector Paris Workman of the Marmet Police Department.

Workman encourages neighbors in Marmet to call police when someone is spotted illegally walking along the tracks.
