UPDATE: Shooting Ruled Self-Inflicted; Police say it may be Accidental

KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A man is undergoing surgery Sunday night after a shooting.

Kanawha County Sheriff's deputies say Frank Kennedy suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound to his torso.

Deputies are investigating the shooting to see if it was an accident or if it was a suicide attempt.

It happened on Dons Drive in the Rutledge area of Kanawha County about 2:30 p.m.

KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A man has been taken to the hospital after being shot, according to 911 dispatchers.

Dispatchers say it happened on Dons Drive in the Rutledge area of Kanawha County about 2:30 p.m.

The Kanawha County Sheriff's Office is investigating the shooting. Nobody is in custody at this time.

No details about the victim's condition are being released at this time.
