PHELPS, Ky. (WSAZ) -- A man and a woman have been arrested for a recent robbery at the Phelps Double Kwik, according to Kentucky State Police.

Larry Thacker Jr., 31, of Kimper, Ky., was charged with one count of second-degree robbery and one count of theft by unlawful taking. Patricia Rose, 48, also of Kimper, faces the same charges.

The robbery was reported just after 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Troopers say a man entered the business and indicated he had a weapon. The man then demanded cash and cigarettes before leaving in a waiting car driven by a woman. Investigators say the clerk was able to get the car’s license number before it took off. Later, a trooper driving on Ky. 194 saw the car, pulled it over and arrested Thacker and Rose.

The trooper said he found cash from the robbery on Thacker who was a passenger in the car.

Both people were taken to the Pike County Detention Center.
