Man Shot in Huntington; Police Investigating

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Police are investigating a shooting that happened early Sunday morning in Huntington.

Huntington Police tell WSAZ.com Damon Bailes, of Huntington, was shot in the foot while walking along 20th Street and Artisan Avenue about 3 a.m.

According to the police report, Bailes was shot in the right foot. Officers found a bullet hole in the toe of his right shoe and a hole in the shock area of his left shoe.

Six 9mm bullet casings were found on scene by HPD officers, according to the report. A Pepsi can that had been shot as also found.

Officers say Bailes does not appear to be the intended victim of the shooting.

No other information has been released.
