UPDATE 9/13/12 @ 2:30 p.m.
CATLETTSBURG, Ky. (WSAZ) -- Investigators have identified the man found dead in the Ohio River on Sunday.
Wayne County Sheriff's Deputy S.G. Poff says 42-year-old Garry Hemphill was found in the river near the Catlettsburg, Ky. boat dock about noon. Poff says his body was identified through fingerprints on Monday.
Family members last saw Hemphill on August 6 when a relative dropped him off at an auto parts store in Lavalette.
The relative said she would be back to get him. He told her that if he wasn’t there when she got back, she could find him walking along Route 52. When she got back he was no where to be found.
Family members said Hemphill was a diabetic and has been having trouble keeping it under control for the past month or so. They said he did not have his medication when he disappeared.
Deputies say he was reported missing two days later.
Emergency responders later found Hemphill's body in the Ohio River. No foul play is suspected.
The male looked to be in his 40's.
Police say there are no signs of foul play but are still investigating.
