GALLIPOLIS FERRY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A man from Gallipolis Ferry has been killed in a traffic accident along Route 2 in Mason County.
The Mason County Sheriff says Wendell Jordan, 33, died in the crash that happened about 1 a.m. Monday morning.
Investigators say that Jordan was driving south near the railroad crossing in Gallipolis Ferry when he lost control and went off the right side of the road. He then steered back onto the road, but lost control again, sliding sideways across the center line. At that point, they say his car went underneath the trailer of a semi heading north on Route 2.
An infant in the car suffered minor injures and was taken to Pleasant Valley Hospital in Point Pleasant.
The driver of the semi as not hurt.
