KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Millions of dollars in unpaid taxes was the topic of conversation at the Kanawha County Commission meeting Tuesday night.

Commissioners discussed going after people with delinquent taxes.

Commissioners say in all, the unpaid taxes total millions of dollars and the top ten offenders should be on notice, they plan to sue.

"We are going to have to raise taxes if we don't collect these legally owed taxes," Commission President Kent Carper said. "We are going to sue a bunch of people who haven't paid their taxes that were legally required to do so."

Commissioners say they will keep this issue on the agenda to stay on top of the problem.
