KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- More wastewater from the MCHM spill site at Freedom Industries has been shipped out of the Kanawha Valley.

Two tankers filled with the wastewater were shipped this week from Freedom's location near Nitro to an under injection control well in northwestern Ohio.

The wastewater will be injected deep underground -- thousands of feet below drinking water aquifers.

The Department of Environmental Protection said more shipments of the wastewater will be sent to that location.

The MCHM spill on Jan. 9 affected the water supply of nearly 300,000 West Virginians in parts of nine counties.
