WELLSTON, Ohio (WSAZ) -- More than 10 people were arrested Friday on drug charges in a bust in Wellston, according to a news release from the city police department.
Thirty-one felony charges were brought against 10 of the suspects. Seven other people were arrested on lesser charges.
During the sweep, one arrest led Wellston Police to obtain a search warrant on a suspect's home. During that search, police seized suspected heroin, prescription medications, a large sum of cash and a rifle.
All of those arrested were taken to jail. All of the indictments resulted from the February session of the Jackson County grand jury.
Jackson County Prosecutor Jack Detty and Jackson County Sheriff; John Shasteen worked with Wellston Police Chief John Hall on the drug sweep.
The Jackson County Municipal Court Probation Department also assisted in making the arrests.
