BOONE COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A Boone County mother was arrested Wednesday on felony child abuse charges, including allegations of IV drug use in front of her four young kids, according to information from the Boone County Sheriff's Office.
Tabitha Harper, 28, of Bloomingrose, W.Va., was charged with felony child abuse.
Deputies said the kids were found with bruises and scratches -- even a bite mark. Harper is accused of inflicting those injuries on her kids, all of whom are ages 9 and younger. Child Protective Services notified deputies about the kids' injuries.
When deputies arrived at Harper's home, they said she ran out a rear door and into a nearby wooded area. She was caught a short time later.
Harper was arraigned in Boone County Magistrate Court.
