BELLE, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A woman who allegedly drove around buying drugs with her 2-year-old in the car has been arrested.
West Virginia State Police said they were already looking for Kristen Endicott and her boyfriend, Troy Allen, on previous warrants Tuesday, but when they heard that her child might be in danger, they stepped up efforts to find her.
Sergeant Larry O'Bryan said law enforcement was looking for Endicott in the Rand area when they heard she was in Belle.
"At that time we became ultra concerned about this 2-year-old child being in the vehicle while drug transactions were alleged to be occurring and at that time we heard the vehicle was up here at the Witcher Exxon and that the female had abandoned the child in the vehicle," said Sgt. O'Bryan.
Endicott is facing a number of charges: Driving under the influence of a controlled substance, grand larceny of a motor vehicle and child neglect with the risk of injury.
State Police say her boyfriend, Troy Allen, is charged with stealing his grandmother's credit cards and maxing them out. He would take the purchases to pawn shops to get the cash.
Sgt. O'Bryan said $20,000 of the $45,000 has been recovered and that the rest of the property has been documented to individuals who purchased the items without knowledge the property was illegally purchased.
O'Bryan says further charges are pending against the couple.
He says Child Protective Services has been notified about Endicott's 2-year-old daughter. The girl is currently with a grandmother.
